For the second consecutive week, the Mineral County High football team put up 88 points, this time in a rout over Pyramid Lake.
The Serpents, who won the game 88-12, got a monster game from senior Michael Smith in his final game at MCHS. Smith carried the ball 14 times for 254 yards and six touchdowns, and added a pair of two-point conversions for good measure.
Tanner Owens also left the Serpent football field in style with two touchdowns and a total of 130 yards and a conversion.
Brandon West and Andre Davis each accounted for a pair of touchdowns, and Robert McFalls and Chance Sterns each added one.
Senior Spencer Benjamin led his team in tackles with 11.
Despite the big back to back wins, the Serpents (6-3, 5-2) will miss the playoffs after finishing in third place in their division. Their only two conference losses came to the teams ahead of them, in Whittell and Virginia City who will represent the West in the playoffs this weekend.
