The Nevada Division of Investigation has been requested to investigate the death of a Mineral County Detention Center inmate who was found unresponsive on Friday, Oct. 9.
In a press release from Mineral County Under Sheriff, Bill Ferguson, it stated that the unresponsive male inmate was declared deceased by a Mineral County Deputy Coroner at approximately 5:28 p.m. on Friday. At the request of the family of the deceased, the name is currently being withheld.
Ferguson updated the release Oct. 12 to state, “the cause of death has been determined to be self-inflicted strangulation”.
