Paul Haight, age 72, passed away Aug. 10 at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno. Paul was born in St. Thomas, Elgin Co. Canada and came to the USA on a visa in 1962. He served our country for two years in the US Army.
Paul met his wife, Lorraine, of 22 years, in California in 1987, where they both worked for Johnson and Johnson Corporation. They were married in 1993. Paul and Lorraine moved to Hawthorne to be with their son, daughter in law, and grandchildren in 1996. Paul worked at Day and Zimmerman Hawthorne Army Depot as an equipment mechanic in refrigeration and air conditioning for 10 ½ years before retiring.
He was happiest when around family and friends; Paul loved camping and hunting with his friends. He loved watching his races, boxing and MMA. Paul is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son and daughter in law Michael and Linda Spanier; grandchildren: Michael and Amanda Marnin; Stephen Schrepfer; Ashlynn Spanier; Tynessa Iacovelli; Aidan and Drake Spanier and great grandchildren: Cayden and Gage Marnin and Novalee Schrepfer, all of Hawthorne. Paul also has two brothers, David and Dennis, both in Canada; a son, Mark Haight-Boston and two grandchildren. Paul leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well. He was truly a special person and would do anything for anybody. Paul was a great man and will be forever remembered and missed so very much. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
