2A routine stop on a silver Hyundai on July 13 near the south end of the bypass around Hawthorne ended in a drug bust for members of Mineral County Sheriff’s Office.

Stopped at approximately 3:26 a.m. sheriff’s office deputies stopped the Hyundai and became suspicious of possible criminal activity.

A search of the car revealed over seven pounds of marijuana and 48 Acetaminophen Hydrocodone pills. Along with the drugs, $13,000 in U.S. currency were also located.

The subjects in the Hyundai were identified as Jonathan Donner and Nubian Franklin, both of Las Vegas. Both were arrested and booked into the Mineral County Detention Facility on the following charges: Donner – driving under the influence; transport controlled substance – two counts; possession of controlled substance – 2 counts; use of controlled substance – two counts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set at $54,500. Franklin was booked on transport controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Bail was set at $25,000.
