Consolidated Agencies of Human Service (CAHS) is working in conjunction with the Mineral County Office of Emergency Management in assisting citizens affected by the June 5 tornado. We have established an account at the Financial Horizons Credit Union to receive donations specific for this purpose. CAHS will receive referrals for this funding from the Office of Emergency Management.
We have already received a sizable donation from Borealis Mining Company LLC. We would like to encourage people who wish to donate to either take the donations directly to FHCU and let the teller know that it is for “Consolidated Agencies of Human Services: account #17394-60 – Tornado Relief Fund” or to the CAHS office located at 924 5th street. Donations can also be mailed to CAHS (P.O. Box 331, Hawthorne, NV 89415) Please not “Tornado Relief Fund.” Every penny received will go to citizens who were directly affected by the storm.
Those of us who have lived in this community for a while know that extreme weather is somewhat rare, and we have never experienced a tornado. But we also know that we have a great community filled with caring individuals who will support each other when the need arises. Please show your support for these individuals and donate.
