Our Dad, Charles Robert Barbe, went to that big gold mine in the sky on March 23, 2015 at 9:40 a.m. He was born on Sept. 26, 1926 in Cumberland, Allegany County, Md. Charles had lived in Mina again since 2006, moving back from Washington State, and he had lived also lived in Mina in the 1970’s. Charles Barbe was an over the road truck driver by profession, hauling all sorts of loads all over the country but his favorite pastime was being a rock hound. He loved mining and getting out spending his time prospecting in the desert.
Charles Barbe is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca L. Mineo of Chatsworth, Calif. and Debra Rhyne of Redding, Calif., seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and his girlfriend, Donna Harsha of Mina.
Cremation is under the direction of Gunter’s Funeral Home. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
