The Walker Lake Crusaders will share their vision and efforts for the Walker Lake shoreline on Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Buffalo Stop, located off Hwy. 95 in Walker Lake.

The Walker Lake Crusaders have been in existence since 2003, when a group of young men felt a concern about the lake.

With a handful of volunteers they have continually cleaned the shorelines, removing tossed items including old tires and abandoned signs to picnic trash. They have also cleaned the recreational areas by checking not only the water’s edge, but also reviewing the conditions in the public bathrooms.

With their own time and money, the group has created printed literature about the lakes receding edge line and made posters of information for locals and visitors to view.

There will be three half hour presentation times held at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.  This will be followed by an open forum of questions and free handouts.
