Melvin James Graham was born in Donalsonville, Ga. on Sept. 17, 1945 to Espy Graham and Wileva Davis-Speights. He went to school and graduated in 1964 where he was a Private at Fort Hood, Texas. Melvin returned home where he worked at the Hawthorne Naval Ammunition Base.
Melvin was married to Regina Brantley. To their union they had one son, Melvin Graham, Jr. (Buzzie), preceded in death. Later Melvin moved to L.A. and married Judy and to the union two children, JauWan and Cha’Monique and a stepdaughter Shauntee’. He returned back home and married Barbara Quick and united with five children, Rico, Toni, Victor, Felicia and Mark Alan, all Moreno’s.
He leaves to mourn, his dear mother, Wileva Speights and six siblings: Barbara; Frank; Charlotte; DeWayne; Delphine; Darline and Deneal Dupree (Clarence). Melvin has a host of nieces and nephews: Shelly Rochelle, Jr.; Kenneth; Gale; Niecee; Maureen; Timothy and Erica; Brandee; Arande; Lamarr; Akeya; Nekeda; Elisha and Elijah.
A very special cousin, Alan Johnson, and a host of other family members and dear friends.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 11 in Hawthorne.

Rest in Peace, Brother – I know Melvin is greatly mourned by the wife he leaves behind. I wish her all the best in dealing with the aftermath of his passing.
Although it’s been many years since I’ve last seen Melvin in person I remember how much he loved to laugh and crack jokes.
