Ivan Axel Phillips was born in Hughson, Calif. on July 31, 1925 and left this world on Sept. 3 in Placerville, Calif.. He served our country in the U.S. Army 175th Infantry Regiment during WWII, then devoted 30 years to the California Department of Forestry.
Although you left us for a better place, you took a piece of our hearts when you left to the Heavenly Gates. You were a walking angel on earth and now you are an angel from above.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 45 years; sons, Richard, Mark, Tim (wife, Trudy); daughters, Sharon (husband Dr. Bruce Eich) and Tami, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Services were held in Placerville with services in Hawthorne to be announced at a later date.
