Within the past month many new military firearms have been acquired by the Hawthorne Ordnance Museum in Hawthorne, Nevada.

Within the past month many new military firearms have been acquired by the Hawthorne Ordnance Museum in Hawthorne, Nevada.

Now on display and added to inventory are two mortar launching tubes, 60mm and a 81mm equipped with  the tripods and range finders.  Also on display are replicas of four military type rifles; a M1 Grand, M2 Carbine, M2 Carbine Paratrooper type and a Thompson Automatic Machine Gun.  All these items are inoperable and give guests a chance to handle them.

The museum is located at 925 E Street in Hawthorne and everyone is invited to come and see the excellent military items on display and visit the gift shop.  New items on sale are dummy hand grenades both the popular pineapple and Vietnam era lemon types.  

There is no admission charge. The museum is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteer workers are welcome at the museum.
