Walter Eugene Haak
Walter “Walt” Eugene Haak, passed from this life on November 14, 2013. He is now in the glory of heaven based on his confession and belief in Jesus Christ. Walt was born to Bennie and Esther Haak on May 21, 1941 in Champaign, Ill.
Walt was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Thrifty Drug chain and resided in Murrieta, Calif. Walt was a loving uncle and treated his nieces and nephews as “his children.” Walt dearly loved his family and friends; his friends quickly became family to him. Walt was a passionate man and as he grew older his passion stayed steadfast in his faith, family, and patriotism. He remained somewhat of a historian for the Hawthorne area. He loved to travel and made frequent trips to Hawthorne.
Preceding Walt in death were both parents, his lifelong partner Tony Roses, his nephew-in-law John Souza.
His survivors include Bennie W. Haak and wife, Robert Haak and wife, Mary Haak, nine nieces and nephews, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
