Sherman R. Frederick/Properly Subversive

Readers always write to express dissatisfaction with the Las Vegas airport being renamed after Sen. Harry Reid

I get the irritation.

For as long as he was Nevada’s most powerful man in Washington, he didn’t do a whole helluva lot for workaday Nevadans. But I’m not arguing that today. I know some think he hung the moon. And that’s fine with me.

But that said, here is my take on the name change: It fits!

As travellers experience delays and stress, as people do in all airports, the name of Harry Reid will, in perpetuity, irritate people just like it did when he was alive.

Think about it.

Every day, thousands utter his name with a colorful word affixed.

I say, what’s not to like?
