Photographer/artist Marie Nygren displays her work.

A traveling photography show is on display at Mineral County Library now through the 25th of April. The photographs depict 17 counties of Nevada, each illustrating an attribute unique to the area.

Photographer/artist Marie Nygren is a Nevadan who loves to travel the state and capture the wonder and beauty of Nevada. The photograph of Mineral County depicts the colorful Calico Hills with tans and salmon colors beneath a beautiful and dynamic sky.

This exhibit is funded in part by grants to the artist from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. Special exhibits such as these highlight the importance of federal funding to bring programs of community enrichment to our rural area.

Artist Nygren states, “Photos are a time capsule of memories that take a person back to prior emotions, people, places, and events experienced. The world changes, the photos remain.” If you have visited different parts of our state, you may recognize some of the places she has captured and may be reminded of your past travels.

Mineral County Library is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 775-945-2778 for further information.
