Hawthorne Presbyterian Community Church
SUNDAY SERVICES 10:30 a.m.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:30 a.m.
7th and “F” Street, Hawthorne, Nevada
Community Presbyterian Church invites you to worship with us on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at 7th and F Street or on Linda Young’s Facebook Live.
Scriptures for the day are Numbers 21:4-9; Psalm 107:1-5, 17-22; Ephesians 2:1-10; and John 3:14-21. This is the Fourth Sunday in Lent. Grace is the gift that binds us to God. It protects us, redeems us, restores us, and makes us whole. Elder Gary Funk will present the morning message based on John 3:14-21, “Born Again”. John says: “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”
We will have a Maundy Thursday Seder Supper with Christian Communion served on Thursday, March 28th, at 5:30 p.m. We will also have an Easter Sunrise service at the cross on the road to Lee Vining (Just before the turnoff to Lucky Boy) on Easter Sunday.
The choir will practice Easter songs starting Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. following Bible Study at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
