The Mineral County High football team is off to a 2-1 start after a victory over Wells on Friday.

The Serpents were dominant from the start and controlled the game the entire time on their way to a 64-0 win. Quarterback Chase Reeves led the way with 230 yards in the air and four touchdowns, two of which were to freshman Quentin Isom who had 140 receiving yards and two scores.

Devayne Isom had two touchdown catches of his own with 85 total receiving yards. D. Isom also rushed for 85 yards and a score.

The Serpents had 224 rushing yards in the win. Cade Torres ran for 80 yards on six carries while Triston Jones rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Ivan Eaton led the way on defense with 12 tackles and four sacks. Cole Robinson had three sacks for Mineral County in the win.

It was the second straight shutout for Mineral County who blanked Owyhee the week before 68-0. The only blemish on their record was a close 34-30 loss to Virginia City in the season opener.

The Serpents (2-1) will host Carlin (1-2) on Friday at 7 p.m. in Hawthorne.
