Mineral County welcomed undefeated Mammoth to town last Friday, and despite coming out on the wrong side of the final score, the Serpents had plenty to be encouraged about. Mammoth came into the game 8-0, and the Serpents took the fight to them despite the 39-26 loss.

Cade Torres rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown to lead Mineral County, while Devayne Isom had a 70-yard touchdown run and a 46-yard touchdown reception for the Serpents.

Isom also had 26 tackles and Preston Larramendy finished with 23. Drake Spanier pulled down an interception for the home team in the loss.

Mineral County finished the regular season 3-6, but went 3-1 in conference play to earn them a playoff spot. They will take on Spring Mountain (7-2) in Las Vegas on Friday at 1 p.m.
