Walter Harold Hubmer

Walter Harold Hubmer passed away Nov. 8, 2019 at his home in Temecula, CA, surrounded by his family, from Alzheimer’s. Wally was born March 14, 1950 to Harold and Lorrayne (Weiss) Hubmer in Walla Walla, Wash.

Wally and his family lived in Yerington for over 30 years. He owned and operated Goldfield Auto Parts alongside his wife, Laura, and sons Chris and Ben.

Wally loved spending time with his family, camping, boating, traveling the ‘old roads’, ATVing with family and friends, and spending time at the family cabin.

His greatest joy was driving his James Dean Porsche 550 Spyder around town and to Porsche Club events. He will be remembered for his ready smile, crazy sense of humor, and his greeting “Hey guy!”.

Wally was a member of the Yerington Lions Club, Mason Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Community United Methodist Church and the Sierra Nevada Region Porsche Club of America.

Wally is survived by his wife of 41 years, Laura; his daughters: Abie (John) Cooper and Jami (Kevin) Starcher; sons: Chris (Missie) Hubmer, and Ben (Danielle) Hubmer; eight grandchildren; one greatgrandson; his sister: Judie (Mitch) Nimey; nephew: Jeff Nimey; niece: Heather Stenovich and many cousins.
