The Mineral County High School football team rebounded from its only loss and defeated Beatty Friday night on the road, 44-30.

Mineral County entered the game coming off a 44-6 loss at Virginia City the week before and matched a pair of touchdowns with the Hornets in the first quarter. Beatty went on to score two more times in the second and took a 30- 14 lead into the locker room at half.

The Serpents tied the game at 30 in the third and scored a pair of touchdowns in the final quarter to put the game away, outscoring Beatty 30-0 in the second half.

Senior quarterback Seth Bozzi threw for 236 and four touchdowns, and also ran for one to give him five total on the night. Tony Torres caught three of those touchdown passes on six catches for 143 yards. Torres also carried the ball 19 times for 105 yards and a touchdown, while Issacc Torres caught two passes for 50 yards and a score.

Tony Torres capped his all around big night by leading the team in tackles with 14 total, while Ryan Jaramillo finished with 10 and Nathaniel Montoya nine.
