The scholarship recipients’ success was enthusiastically celebrated by a gracious lunch hosted by the club members at the local Care and Share on May 14. 

The Jack and Mary Bott Scholarship was awarded to Helen Sanchez. Sanchez will be attending Western Nevada College. Her academic aspiration is to respectively become a qualified special education teacher. McKenna Cardenas was awarded the honorary Soroptimist International Award. 

Cardenas will be attending the University of Nevada, Reno in the fall and plans to academically major in community health science. 

There were two chosen recipients for the Pat Kumler award. Ciera Norman and Gloria Bale. Norman will be attending Pacific University and studying physical therapy. Bale will be graduating not only from Mineral County High School but will be graduating from Western Nevada College on May 20 with her associate of science degree. 

Bale will be continuing her studies at the University of Nevada, Reno this fall and majoring in Veterinary Science.
