The Pinochle Payers at the senior center are currently welcoming new players. Starting in January, Fridays are being designated as days to learn to play pinochle. If you have always wanted to learn, or if you played years ago but have forgotten the basics, now is your opportunity to learn the game and join a very congenial group for afternoons of good fun. There is no need to be intimidated.
Just come to the senior center on K Street on Fridays and you will be given all the help you need.
Play starts at 12:45 p.m. or immediately after the noon lunch and continues until six sets have been completed or until approximately 4:15 a.m. You need not be a senior; all ages are welcome. The group also plays pinochle on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with players putting one dollar into the pot. During the learning sessions, however, there will be no cost. There is no obligation or membership fee involved. Players simply come when they can. Please join us if you are interested.
