Mineral County residents came together outside of the sheriff’s office on Sunday to join as a community after hearing about the death of a young woman in the county jail.
Led by Pastor Jeremy Williams, he informed those in attendance that the outcome of the information release led to “dissension, anger and hate. This situation needs the hand of God placed in it and we are the conduit in which it’s to be done.”
He explained that the family of Kelly Coltrain [the deceased], the town and the sheriff’s office could use some peace.
The five-minute silent prayer was followed by a proclamation prayer by Pastor Rob Gibson of the Oasis Assembly of God Church.
Many residents were in attendance from all faiths and beliefs. The short gathering was held on the lawn in from of the sheriff’s office.
