Barbara Ann Pellett Stone took her first steps with Jesus on the night of May 25, 2018. She was at home surrounded by her family and felt their love for her as she sailed away to eternity. Barbara was born in Winnemucca on July 3, 1936; she lived most of her 81 years in the Nevada desert. She graduated from Mineral Country High School in Hawthorne in 1955 and promptly moved into Reno. She was the daughter and wife of hard rock miners and she loved the desert and all its beauty. One of the things she was most proud of was that her great grandchildren were 4th generation Nevadans.

Barbara had a great sense of humor an even bigger sense of family and she loved adventure. As a single mom for most of her families growing up years she was determined that her kids would get the best education available, she worked tirelessly to that end, at times working multiple jobs at once to see to it that they had the best chance in this life. She was able to travel a bit with trips to Italy, Hawaii and much of the United States. She treasured family affairs more than anything, watching all her kids at play gave her indescribable joy.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and The Colonial Dames and enjoyed attending regular meeting and events. She was also active in local politics and belonged to the Women of Washoe and Nevada Democratic Party.
