The Modesto Ridge Runner rally begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning right outside of Hawthorne.
The 44th annual Modesto Ridge Runner rally will be held in the deserts of Mineral County this Saturday. A family fun event, the rally will cover almost 100 miles of off-roading fun. Locals are encouraged to sign up and can do so by visiting the steak room of the El Capitan on Friday.
Modesto Ridge Runners used to run rails for this course but as times changed, the organization has opened its arms up to UTVs.
Unlike most off road “races” this rally is a timed event; participants compete against themselves while being stewards of the desert by picking up trash.
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday when the group is escorted out of town to begin the rally. The night ends the event with a dinner and award presentation.
