A group of residents and visitors during their Fourth of July festivities last week.

The Fourth of July community potluck dinner, held in Walker Lake, brought over 75 residents and visitors to the evenings highway celebration. Dressed in the patriotic colors of red, white and blue, neighbors greeted one another as they shared stories and recipes while sitting in lawn chairs and at picnic tables. Outdoor music was supplied by the local LOM (Lovers of Music) band, which prompted people of all ages to get up and dance.

A similar outdoor event is being planned for Labor Day weekend in September.
