The Credit Union raising funds for children’s hospital
Financial Horizons Credit Union will be celebrating “Credit Union for Kids Miracle Jeans Day 2017” from until Sept. 13. The raising of funds benefits the Renown Children’s Hospital, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
Credit union members can support this program which ends on Sept. 13 and will be celebrated as Miracle Jeans Day. On this day, credit union employees will wear jeans to work for a donation.
The credit union challenges the community and other businesses in Mineral County to allow their employees to wear jeans on Sept. 13.

Lunch Box Book Club to meet Tuesday
The Lunch Box Book Club will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at noon in the library. The book for the month is “The Time Traveler’s Wife”.

Poker run set for Oct. 7
A poker run will be held to help Travis Isom get a new bathroom. The run will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 beginning at 9 a.m. at the VFW (9th and A Street). The cost is $30 per person which will include the run, live entertainment, an auction, and tri-tip or chicken dinner. People are being asked to bring either an auction item or dessert to be raffled off.
Search & Rescue meeting tonight
Mineral County Search & Rescue will meet tonight, Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Mineral County Courthouse in the courtroom. The discussion will be held on the 911 Mt. Grant Challenge parade route for Friday.
