You’ve heard the saying “it takes a village to raise a child.” On Saturday, Aug. 5 that same village came to my aid to give my husband, Telifero Lawson, a very successful 65th surprise birthday party.
I would like to thank Dessie Lawson, R.V. Lawson, Anna Morgan, Jeri Lynn Lande and Jennette Williams for the wonderful feast that was provided. Others helped too by going to the store and with clean up, EG, Donna, Cynthia, and Marilyn.
Thanks to Daryle, the music, as always was great. We all danced till it hurt, so much fun. Thank you to the staff of the V.F.W. Amanda, you are a great bartender.
Thank you to everyone that came to make this such a special event in my husband’s life. All the cards and gifts were much appreciated.
You hold a special place in our hearts. God bless and much love to all.
Telifero and Mary Lawson
CAHS had another successful Back to School Supply Drive this year. We have provided over 80 students with school supplies for the 2017/18 school year so far. We were also able to provide extra supplies directly to Hawthorne Elementary School and Mineral County High School /Jr. High.
Thank you: Dollar General, Mineral County Fire Department and American Cruisers for hosting “Stuff a Fire Truck with Back to School Supplies”. They donated a cart full of supplies. Thank you to the BLM Carson City District Office for continuing their school supply drive for CAHS again this year. They donated over 15 backpacks full of supplies. Thank you to Financial Horizons Credit Union for raising money and purchasing a barrel full of supplies. Thank you, Mineral County Library for hosting “Fines for School Supplies” and donating a table full of supplies.
Last but definitely not least, thank you to all the citizens of Mineral County that donated school supplies. We couldn’t do it without you. You are all greatly appreciated.
