Hawthorne Army Depot is enthusiastic regarding its efforts to provide opportunities for the youth in Mineral County and the surrounding areas.

The Joint Munitions Command, HWAD’s headquarters, approved a request for the depot to participate in the Pathways Program. The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid through a job with the Department of Army. These experiences can provide meaningful training and career development to individuals determining their career path for the future. Work with the Federal Government provides the opportunity to be gain new skills while engaging in meaningful work.

An application for openings at HWAD will be available on www.usajobs.gov through May 25, 2016.

Lt. Col. Gregory Gibbons, commander of Hawthorne Army Depot, said, “The depot believes strongly in responsible stewardship of the resources that have been entrusted to us. There is no greater resource than today’s youth, who will be tomorrow’s leaders.”
