Christmas Day brought out the newly appointed Walker Lake Advisory Board and fire station personnel, who cooked and served over 55 local lake residents their holiday dinner.
With smoked turkeys and ham, to stuffing, potatoes and other add-ons laid out on decorated tables, the Walker Lake fire station’s community room was buzzing with laughter and visiting as the community came together to celebrate a holiday meal together. At least five residents were delivered a warm meal, as local people watched over their neighbors and those that couldn’t physically attend.
Many residents enjoyed meeting one another, as the lake area has welcomed newcomers into their neighborhoods. A relaxed atmosphere of neighborly visiting and great food provided a place for residents that may have been alone on Christmas day.
