The recent Mineral County School Board meeting had a line of recognition, as awards were handed out.

Ed Stidham from the Mineral County School District Transportation Department had framed certificates going to Donnie and Susan Lininger for safely transporting the students to and from extracurricular events. He acknowledged how difficult it can be to locate qualified drivers and how important a dedication such as theirs weighs in to benefit the district of students.

Tom Gallegos, Maintenance Supervisor for the district honored Hugh Qualls as helping with lights, the Rocket signage, setting the bollards at the elementary school and seeing that the donated blue rocket was installed properly.

Laura and David Duff were acknowledged for donating concrete for recent installation projects.

Kay Benscoter accepted his framed certificate for donating one day a week to assist in maintenance needs within the schools.

There were important thanks was given to all by the board members, adding that there is an important element added to our school district when volunteers from the community come to assist in special ways to accomplish the goals of a department. As each department head stressed, without volunteers and assistance from the public so much within our schools cannot be completed.
