The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a male inmate who was found unresponsive on Oct. 9 in the detention facility and later died.

The deceased has been identified as 53 year old, Jack Eugene Reese, of Phoenix, Ariz. Reese had been arrested on Oct. 9 in Mineral County for unlawful use of a controlled substance, per a press release from Undersheriff Bill Ferguson. The individual had been found unresponsive at 5:28 p.m.

The cause of death has been determined to be self-inflicted strangulation.
