Blue pinwheels blew in the wind on Saturday morning as Mineral County residents joined at Veterans Park to help combat child abuse, domestic abuse and sexual abuse. The theme of the even was simply, ‘No To Abuse.’
Organized by CAHS, the event featured literature from Advocates to End Domestic Violence; Mineral County Health Nurse, CAHS and Mineral County Sheriff’s Office.
Children and adults alike were given ample pamphlets to take home and discuss along with goodies for the kids.
CAHS works directly with the community to help bridge the gap with information to help start the discussion on subject’s that some parents may shy away from. They also have parenting classes and provide help to those who have been a victim of domestic abuse or are themselves an abuser.
