The Mineral County High football team returns to the field this weekend and will take on Owyhee on Saturday night at home.

The game was originally scheduled for Friday night, but has been pushed back. Kickoff time will still be 7 p.m.

The Serpents are coming off one of the largest season opening victory’s in years after they routed Lone Pine 62-14 on Aug. 29. They will look to continue their stellar play against the Braves who have yet to ply a regular season game.

The two teams haven’t met since the 2011 season when the Serpents fell 40-34 at home.

Mineral County will open up conference play next weekend on the road against Excel Christian before returning home to take on rival Virginia City on Sept. 26.
