Sixty years ago on Aug. 1, 1953 in San Bernardino, Calif., Bud and Mary Lemmond said “I do”. Those 60 years had the couple raising three children: Bud, Frances and Lenny in California where Bud was serving in the US Navy, a career which he stuck with for 20 years. The couple then moved to Hawthorne where they became active in the Elks Lodge; the American Legion and Auxiliary; VFW and F-Troop organizations. When not busy with their lodge and organizational duties the couple love to travel and have been on Alaskan, Panama and Hawaiian cruises. They are also the grandparents of many grandchildren, whom they adore.
