You get up every morning looking for that spark to make life more interesting. Here’s my spark of the day — The Big Trump Knife.
You’ve heard of Donald Trump’s sneakers. That presidential tchotchke promises to allow the purchaser to “step into history … walk with Trump.” There are other kinds of Trump shoes available for purchase. You can also get a cologne called “Victory 47 Fragrance.”
And, of course, you can’t not have heard of the Trump watches. Advertisements for that opportunity to “be a part of history” have been a ubiquitous feature on American airwaves for at least the last year.
But wait, there’s more.
You can now buy a Trump knife.
The website hawking the 10-inch hunting knife says this is the perfect way to “Celebrate Victory with the 47th President!”
“The BIG Trump Knife is laser-etched on a stainless steel blade with a waving American flag and a stainless steel half-guard keeps your fingers from slipping.”
I do love me a good grip on my 10-inch knife. Ain’t life in Merica great?
CONSEQUENCES
The New York Times sat down with Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont recently. He had some sage advice for Democrats: Ditch the besmirched Democrat label and run as independents. Says he:
“There’s a lot of great leadership all over this country at the grass-roots level. We’ve got to bring that forward. And if we do that, we can defeat Trumpism and we can transform the political situation in America.”
Bernie’s message comes at a hard time for Democrats. Their last president was a universal dud, and their last presidential candidate was undemocratically put forward as the party became ensnared in its own DEI trap.
As President Barack Obama famously said, elections have consequences. What Obama didn’t say but could have said is that the dildo of consequences often comes unlubricated.
The latest CNN poll on the topic paints the picture. The Democratic Party’s favorability rating sits at 29 percent, the lowest level since the poll started asking the question in 1992.
This is gonna hurt.

I See Bad Movies but “Black Bag” was not one of them.
Caught that spy flick over the weekend. Storyline involves Ukraine. I was a little worried halfway through that I wasn’t properly following the story, but it cleared up by the end.
It’s based on a true story, tho I don’t know it. My loss, I guess, but it didn’t make the movie less enjoyable for me.
Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 97/72 critics to audience score. That’s a fair assessment, IMHO. Kate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender star, and I promise you, they do not disappoint.
Be forewarned, this is not an action flick. This is a spycraft story. I liked it.
PS: I am not going to see “Snow White” 2025. I don’t like the woke smell surrounding the making of the film. And, while Disney tried to fix the wokeness, it ended up, by most accounts, being a bloody abortion. Critics hated it. Here’s one UK review:
“Believe the anti-hype. It’s that bad. This latest Disney adaptation was yanked from prerelease marketing duties — the London premiere was axed — for good reason. It represents a new low for cultural desecration and for a venerable 102-year-old entertainment company that now looks at its source material with a pinched nose of disgust.”
Ouch, to say the least. How did Disney let that happen to one of its most beloved stories?
