October 16, 1949 – October 13, 2023

Lee was born in Upland, CA on October 16, 1949 and was raised in Downey, CA. He graduated from Warren High School then enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in 1968. In the military, Lee served as a cook and his love of cooking lasted throughout his life.

After serving 2 years in the military, Lee returned home to California. He married the love of his life, Bryn Skvarna, and together they had three sons before they moved to Hawthorne. Lee was passionate about his law enforcement career at the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office. In addition to his law enforcement duties Lee volunteered playing Santa Claus at Christmas and McGruff for special events. This warmed his heart. Lee retired out as Captain. He and his wife moved to Fernley for their retirement where he enjoyed many trips away to Atlantis with his wife, Bryn and sister, Deanna.

His grandchildren were the light of his life and he was able to watch them grow and play. He loved to play pranks on them and delight their reactions. Lee was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lee and Theresa Skvarna, and his younger brother, Robert Skvarna. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Bryn, his three sons, Chris(his wife Felicia), Matt, Eric, and his grandchildren that were his world Ava, Kali, and Dean, and his loving sister Deanna Bush (her husband Bob).
