Jerry Junior Goodyear , best known as Jerry. Surrounded by his family passed away on March 14 from a battle with cancer. He was 87 years old.
He was born to Clarence and Sophia Goodyear in Gladstone, New Mexico. He moved to Hawthorne in the early 70’s.
Jerry is survived by his wife Fran of 26 years of marriage, his daughter Catherine (Don Taylor), son Jerry Jr. (Diana), step daughters Jeri (Juan Lopez), Sherry (Randall Payne), Tanya, and step-son Richard Hartman (Sally Reilly) and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Jerry served 4 years in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge in July 1956. He also served various positions with Mineral County, since 1973, and retired from Mineral County.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
