The Mineral County High football team opens play Friday afternoon when they travel to Spring Mountain to take on the Eagles at 3 p.m.
With a staff led by head coach Nathan Ridley and former players Brady Cardenas, Logan Espinosa, Phillip Jaramillo and Shawn Isom, the Serpent’s roster includes seven upperclassmen and 11 combined sophomores and freshman.
Following Friday’s game, the team will travel to Coleville next week before playing its home opener Sept. 15 against Pyramid Lake.
The team will look to build on its success they found last year that made the playoffs but lost in the first round.
