The Mineral County High football team traveled to Coleville Saturday and came up a touchdown short, losing the game 42-34.

Serpent freshman quarterback Chase Reeves ran for 80 yards and three touchdowns and Devayne Isom had 12 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Drake Spanier led the way in receiving with five catches.

The Serpents had trouble maintaining the ground game of the Wolves who had a total of 333 rushing yards as a team and five touchdowns. Their defense kept them in the game as well as they recorded three interceptions.

Mineral County (0-2) will host Pyramid Lake (1-1) in its first home game of the season on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
