Hawthorne’s new Dotty’s Casino and Bourbon Street Sports Bar could open their doors sometime this summer.

Mineral County residents have been watching the fast progression of the building of the reportedly proposed Dotty’s Casino and Bourbon Street Sports Bar located to the north of Safeway on US 95 North. Dotty’s Casino is a popular gaming change found in many almost 180 neighborhoods in Nevada, Oregon and Montana with a limited number of slot machines. Bourbon Street Sports Bar offers an atmosphere similar to that of a Dave and Busters as well as a wall of television screens that allow patrons to watch different sporting events all at one time.

“As one of Mineral County’s commissioner board, I am excited to see new growth and businesses in our county. Dotty’s Casino and Bourbon Street Sports Bar will not only offer locals and visitors a place to gather, watch sports and play a few slot machines but it will also help employ Mineral County residents and give back to our tax base,” Commissioner Garth Price explained to the Independent-News.

At this time, it is unknown how many slot machines Dotty’s Casino will offer. An online menu for Bourbon Street Sports Bar states that the establishment offers Cajun-style foods such as: gumbo; muffuletta and po’boy sandwiches. The menu also offers staples such as: hamburgers; hotdogs; nachos with deep fried chicken or shrimp or deep fried pickles.

An exact date as to when the new casino will open has not yet been announced but Price concluded, “I am impressed with how fast the construction of the building is being accomplished and have heard that it should be opened by the summer of 2019.”
