Keith Neville
Mineral County School Board

My name is Keith Neville; I am currently on the school board and running for re-election in hopes of helping give our kids the education they deserve. I would like to continue that effort for another four years as education is always changing and our board should have experienced members.

I have been a resident of Hawthorne since 1970 and have been married to my wife Becky for 44 years.

My educational background: BA 1970 Idaho State University; Current teaching certificate; NIAAA Certified Athletic Administrator and Extended Studies UNR Certified Public Officer. I am the first MCSD board member to attain this recognition.

I have had many work experiences over the years they include: teaching for 31 years; coaching 27 years; Athletic Director for two years; Athletic Administrator for 6 years; was one of the first NIAA Coaches Education and First Aide instructors in Nevada and was elected to the Mineral County School Board in 2014.

I also have held many volunteer positions such as: Pop Warner; Little League; Babe Ruth and Connie Mack; Park and Recreation Board 20 years and volunteer DAV Van Driver for four years.

In my lifetime I have had the privilege of obtaining honors as a NIAA Coach of the year 11 times. I had the MCHS Baseball Field dedicated in my name in 2002; NIAA Hall of Fame in 2004; elected to the NIAA Board of Control in 2017 and represent 14 county school districts and I am the only current member if the NIAA Board of control enshrined in the NIAA Hall of Fame.

A few of my most notable accomplishments have been: raised funds to install new score boards at the gym and all athletic fields; installed the goal posts at the football field with the help of other coaches; repaired and updated the football bleachers; completed the concession stand and restrooms at the football field; installed at no cost to the district, fence top rail protection at all fields including the little league field; procured and installed the flag poles at the football field, baseball field and softball field at no cost to the district; raised funds and build dugouts at the softball field, at no cost to the district; updated and completed renovations at the baseball field, including sod and sprinkler systems at no cost to the district, with the help of my baseball teams; built the announcers booth and storage area at the baseball field, at no cost to the district; raised the final two thousand dollars and coordinated with DZHC to install the marquee at the high school and I raised funds to establish the Bob Condi scholarship at the high school.
