Roxann Kovacs passed away in Sparks on March 15. She was born Feb. 25, 1964 in Ely and was the oldest of 13 children to Donna and Michael Kovacs. She was raised in Hawthorne attending primary, elementary and high school. Graduating in 1982, she was active in sports and was on the drill team.
Roxann worked in Babbitt for a time where she helped provide care for disabled adults. She left Hawthorne and moved to Sparks, where she lived the remainder of her life. Roxann worked for the State of Nevada where she continued to provide care for adults with disabilities.
Roxann married Melvin White in Sparks on Oct. 22, 1983. They have two children and six grandchildren. She was a mother to Ashley Bailey and Antoine White (Kat) and a grandmother to: Jaden; Jordan; Jaxsynn; Joc; Jones and Aaliyah. Roxann loved her family and supported them in their many activities, attending them as often as she could. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Roxann is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Kovacs; her mother in law: Matilda White; nieces: Krysta and Taryn Nelms. She is survived by her husband; children; grandchildren; father, Michael Kovacs; father in law: John White; three brothers; nine sisters; numerous nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles and many in-laws. Roxann will be missed greatly by those who love her.
Funeral services will be held in Hawthorne on Friday, March 30 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with dedication of the grave immediately following.
