Local Earns High Honor

Ana Fitzgerald, office manager of Hawthorne Utilities, was awarded the 2018 Nevada Rural Water Association Administrative Staff Person of the Year award.

This was awarded due to the number of grants and grant revenue obtained for Hawthorne Utilities and community outreach which included: Earth Day; Nevada State Gear Up Career Fair and for Fitzgerald obtaining her water distribution certification.

Besides running the Hawthorne Utilities office, Fitzgerald has also been able to receive additional training as a cross connection specialist and manager of landfill operation, trainings.
