The Mineral County High girls basketball team played a pair of league games over the weekend and the outcome was the same as every conference game they’ve played so far – they won. The Lady Serpents hit the road twice in 24 hours and picked up convincing wins at Whittell Friday night and Excel Christian the next afternoon.

Perla Gutierrez scored 24 points and Hailey Lahre added 13 points and 11 rebounds as Mineral County knocked off Whittell 67-38. Emmalee Going and added eight points and Rayne Knight had six in the win.

Ten Lady Serpents got into the scoring column on Saturday, led by Gutierrez with 18 points, in a 63-19 win at Excel. Lahre, Julieanna Williams and Claudia Benton-Nielsen each had eight points in the win while Jerzi Moody scored seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Mineral County (19-3, 12-0) hosts Coleville tomorrow night before playing at Sierra Lutheran Saturday.
