Paul MacBeth

Paul  A. MacBeth passed away peacefully in Hawthorne on July 20, 2017, at the age of 71.

Paul was born on May 31, 1946, in Buffalo, N.Y. He graduated from Monroe High School in Rochester, N.Y. in 1964.

In 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Norma (DeRoller) in 1967. After moving to San Jose, Calif. in 1970 he began working for Safeway. Paul also lived in Willits, Calif., Quincy, Calif., Reno, Nev. and settled into retirement from Safeway in Hawthorne, Nev. in 2009. He had 35 plus years of work for Safeway and managed to squeeze in several thousand hours of community service.

His business, community service, achievements and service projects were just a few of his other accomplishments. After retirement, he also served as county commissioner for Mineral County in 2013-16.

Paul leaves his wife of 50 years, Norma MacBeth. He is survived by his 3 children: daughter, Alicia Ford of Lewiston, Idaho; daughter, Nicole Duran of Discovery Bay, Calif. and son, Robert MacBeth of Hawthorne and six grandchildren: Connor, Emily, Kathryn, Alesia, Reyanna, and Keslie.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paul’s life. Family and friends will be gathering at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Fernley, Nev. on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place promptly with military funeral honors.
