Arrest Record

The following people were arrested in Mineral County on or after Aug. 20 and were in jail on Monday at or after about 8 a.m. All charges against them are misdemeanors unless otherwise noted. All are innocent until proven guilty in court. Names and charges appear as they have been received from the sheriff’s office.

• Mary G. Kerns was arrested on Aug. 24 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for DUI, above the legal limit, (first); false statement to/obstruct public officer; failure to maintain lane/improper lane change; open alcohol container in vehicle and fail to give an appropriate signal when required. Bail set at $2,800 bond/cash.

• Dillon L. Brown was arrested on Aug. 25 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office on a civil protective custody hold. No bail listed.

• Jamarr E. Covington was arrested on Aug. 25 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for domestic battery – first. Bail listed at $3,000 bond/cash.

• Tammie E. Merritt was arrested on Aug. 25 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for DUI, above the legal limit, (first). Bail set at $1,140 bond/cash.

• Cheyenne C. Waggoner was arrested on Aug. 24 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office on a drug court hold. No bail listed.

• Eric E. Bosworth was arrested on Aug. 25 by Nevada Highway Patrol for no seat belt, false statement to/obstruct public officer and resist public officer. Bail set at $2,355 bond/cash.

• Daniel C. Ducheneaux was arrested on Aug. 26 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for disturbing peace (breach of peace). Bail set at $640 bond/cash.

• Michael J. Faria was arrested on Aug. 25 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for use/under influence schedule I, II, III, IV controlled substance. Bail set at $2,500 bond/cash.

• Jolene A. Howard was arrested on Aug. 26 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for disturbing peace (breach of peace). Bail set at $640 bond/cash.

• Alexander V. Muniz was arrested on Aug. 26 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for unlawful conduct and unlawful conduct. Bail set at $830 bond/cash.

• Kyle N. Skvarna was arrested on Aug. 25 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for a commitment. No bail listed.

• Emily M. Pyzer was arrested on Aug. 26 by Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for possess document/person ID to establish proof of…, false statement to/obstruct public officer and minor purchase/consume alcohol beverage on premises w… Bail set at $3,020 bond/cash.

• Charles F. Cruz was arrested on Aug. 27 by Nevada Highway Patrol for possess schedule I, II, III, IV controlled substance (first/second); DUI controlled/prohibited substance-E/PS; basic speed – 21+ miles per hour over posted limit; use/possess drug paraphernalia and drive without driver’s license. Bail set at $5,700 bond/cash.

• Michael J. Hoffman was arrested on Aug. 27 by Nevada Parole and Probation for an arrest warrant, probation violator on us… No bail.

    What exactly constitutes the charge of “false statement to obstruct officer” ? I hope it’s not as simple as saying you were speeding because you’re late for a job interview, and you’re not late for a job interview. It also seems a bit over-kill when you’re arrested for DUI and you’re also charged with not signaling when you’re pulled over. Just curious…
