Dear Editor,

I drove around town the evening of Thursday April 20th, the day before the town wide free trash pickup for Earth Day.

I was saddened by the lack of participation. There are so many homes in this town with trash and clutter in their front yards that needed to be put to the curb for pickup. Why do these people not see what a blight they put on the looks of our town with all the “stuff” they think they need to hoard? A clean front yard would make the entire town look better and give a better impression to those new to the area or those visiting. It also would improve their neighbor’s attitude about them. Please people, consider this next year when Earth Day arrives and clean up your yards. Thank you.
