Three extra-curricular activity funds at Mineral County High School received a much-needed end-of-the-year bonus thanks to generous alumni, Michelle Rosemark Hulbert. Hulbert, a member of the graduating class of 1983, sent a $1,500 check to be split between the MCHS boys basketball team, the honor society and band. Michelle is with Caliber Home Loans in Reno and typically donates to a Mineral County program that helps kids in the community as a way of giving back to the community of her youth. Michelle’s donation will assist MCHS athletics, scholars and musicians. The school’s music program will resume in January with the hiring of a new, certified staff member. Many Hawthorne residents may remember Kay Rosemark, Hulbert’s mother, as the school secretary at Mineral County High for many years.
