Janet Ethel MacBride-Bailey

1948-2016

Janet Ethel MacBride-Bailey was born in Hawthorne to Charles “Chuck” and Iris “May” MacBride on June 21, 1948.

After a long, hard fight with cancer, pneumonia and many more horrible sicknesses, through the past years, Janet left us on Nov. 29.

Janet was in Renown Hospital for approximately a month and her wishes were to come home surrounded with family, friends and best friend LaLa.

She sadly passed away in peace and so much love. She got her wishes, which she so deserved.

Janet was the most kindest, most generous lady and mother. She was well-known for her beautiful and delicious garden. She grew almost every vegetable thought of, not to mention all the beautiful assortments of flowers. Neighbors, people in the community and even people from out of town just passing through, would stop and ask, “May we take a picture of your beautiful garden?”

Of course she say yes, but also made sure they weren’t leaving without tomatoes, zucchini, radishes, etc. Seeing folks smile made Janet smile.

Janet loved playing pool and was very good at it. She played for the American Legion and other teams during the last few years before she became ill.

She also loved camping; fishing; bird watching; cooking; baking and her books. Janet loved to read and had so many books, new and old. She belonged to so many book clubs.

Janet is and will be missed dearly. She is preceded in death by her mother, Iris May Bliss; father, Charles “Chuck” MacBride; brother, David MacBride; sister, Susan Allen; granddaughter, Justine Bailey and Don Starks, Sr. and Geral “Dewey” Benson.
