Volunteers from the local American Legion spent their Thanksgiving giving back to the community by cooking a free holiday feast for Mineral County residents in need.

Some Mineral County residents again learned the true meaning of Thanksgiving this year when volunteers at the American Legion served a full Thanksgiving meal to anyone in need.

These volunteers, some who have volunteered so long that making the free meal is now their family tradition, made a true Thanksgiving spread including all of the favorites.

Residents who were without family, tight on money, unable to cook or homebound were offered a meal, with no questions asked.

Each year, these volunteers work tirelessly to help those in their communities enjoy not only dinner with friends and family but also somewhere they can enjoy the holiday with other residents in the community.
