The Mineral County High Track & Field team competed in regionals this past weekend in Yerington, and many of our athletes will be going to Carson City this weekend to compete in the Division IV State Championships.
The girls 4X800 relay team, Amyah Boyd, Raynee Knight, Chrissy Williams and Veronica Hernandez (3200m relay), ran their fastest time of the year in zone with a time of 13:01 which was a 30 second improvement for the season. Boyd finished seventh in the 100m hurdles and ran her best time of the year in the 400m dash.
Knight ran the 300m hurdles with a personal record of 57.06 and will be competing in state this weekend.
Veronica Hernandez our senior girl and fist the year track athlete ran the 400m dash with a time of 89.94, she also ran the 100m dash with a time of 16.01.
Kia Brown ran the 200m dash and competed in discussing throwing a PR of 55’9’.
Chrissy Williams ran the 800m for the first time with a time of 3:20, she also ran the 400m dash with a time of 73.76.
Last but not least these ladies are going to compete at State in the 4x100m relay! They ran their fastest time of the year at zone with a time of 58.03 almost a six second personal record for the year! Good Job Ladies!
Our boys team did amazing as well, our only senior Trevor Martin performed well in the 4×800 running a spilt of 2:11, then 30 mins later ran the 1600m with a time of 4:57. On day two he ran the 3200m finishing third. Martin is going to state in all his events.
Austin Tweedy competed in the 4×100, 4×200, 100m and 200m. He advanced to finals in both the 100m and 200m running his all time fastest time in the 200m with a time of 24.69, finishing seventh overall. In the 100m he finished fourth and will be competing in state.
Juan Hernandez competed in the 4×800, 4×100, 4×200 and the 110m hurdles. Three of these events were back to back, he got a personal record in all of three events and was just two places away from going to state in the 110 hurdles, running a 20.79 . He will be competing in the 4×800 at state.
Dylan Crittenden ran in the 4×800 and 300m hurdles, he will be competing as the anchor leg in the 4×800.
Tyler Arson ran in the 4×800, 400m, 800m and the 4x400m. He also ran his fastest spilt of the year in the 4×800 with a time of 2:33.
Robert Brown ran the 4×400, 4×100, 4×200 and the 400m. He ran his fastest time in the 400m with a time of 59.07. He will be competing at state in the 4×800.
Victor Montoya competed in the long jump for the first time this season and advanced to finals. He also ran in the 4×100, 4×200 and the 110m hurdles.
Michael Wadlow ran the 100m and 200m and ran his faster let times of the season.
Christopher Pellitier ran the 800 and 1600, his times have improved every meet this year, his season personal record for the 1600 is 6:55 and 800 is 3:23.
Patrick Pellitier ran the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4×400. He had the first false start of the season in the 400m, luckily he rebounded well and ran his fastest split in the 4×400. He will be going to state as an alternate on the 4×800 relay team.
Kyler Musselman and Devon Davis competed in discus and shot put. Competition in these throwing events was though this season; they improved each meet and set their all time personal record in their events. Good job this season, and good luck at State, let’s get 1st!
